collings-620-sm-lc
Collings 620 SM LC

The 620 SM LC is the fully hollow member of the 620 family, with an outline that recalls 1960s hollow bodies. LC means laminate construction: maple laminate for the body and top, a maple neck, and a trestle block inside. At 1 7/8" it is a quarter inch deeper than the other Collings thinlines, and Collings aims it at an open, expressive sound that still keeps the articulation of a semi-hollow.

The pickups are Righteous Sound Diadems, custom-voiced and, in Collings' words, carrying P90 clarity and presence with extra richness. Choose a Bigsby vibrato or a solid tailpiece; either way the bridge is a pinned ebony base with a tune-o-matic top and nylon saddles. The board is ebony with mother-of-pearl long dots on a 24 7/8" scale, the knobs are Davies Radio, and the peghead is the Flipped Haircut.

For the semi-hollow version with a maple centre block, mahogany body and flamed maple top, look at the 620. Collings' finishes, binding and other options are listed below.

The photo shows one example build.

Options for this model include:

Nonstandard, premium and metallic finishes

Aged finish and hardware

ThroBak humbuckers

Bigsby vibrato

Parallelogram or broken glass inlays

Gold hardware

60s neck profile

Left-handed build

Price subject to change based on options chosen.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Country of Origin: USA (built in Austin, Texas)
Construction: Fully hollow w/ trestle block
Body: Maple laminate
Top: Maple laminate
Soundhole: F-holes (unbound)
Body Binding: Non-grained ivoroid or tortoise
Pickguard: Black/cream/black or tortoise
Guitar Finish: High gloss nitrocellulose lacquer

NECK
Neck: Maple
Neck Joint: Extra long mortise & tenon
Scale Length: 24 7/8"
Fingerboard: Ebony w/ MOP long dots
Fingerboard Radius: 12"
Frets: Medium 18% nickel-silver
Nut: 1 11/16"
Truss Rod Cover: Ebony or tortoise
Peghead Profile: Flipped haircut
Peghead Veneer: Ebony w/ MOP Collings logo

ELECTRONICS
Pickups: Righteous Sound Diadem
Pickup Rings: Black phenolic
Pots/Caps: 500K / Jupiter Vintage Yellow
Wiring: 50s style
Knobs: Davies Radio

HARDWARE
Bridge: Pinned ebony base w/ tune-o-matic bridge and nylon saddles
Tailpiece: Bigsby vibrato or solid tailpiece
Tuners: Nickel Gotoh w/ Collings logo
Strings: D'Addario NYXL1149 (.011" - .049")

DIMENSIONS
Body Width: 15"
Body Length: 19 3/16"
Body Depth: 1 7/8"
Total Length: 40"

CASE
Case: Deluxe hardshell case
