collings-620
Collings 620

The 620 is a semi-hollow with a solid maple centre block, a Honduran mahogany body 1 5/8" deep and a premium flamed maple top, 15" across. The centre block resists feedback at volume, and Collings sets out to combine semi-hollow resonance with the look of a carved archtop. They describe the voice as focused, with smooth sustain and a gentle top end, and credit a deeply set neck joint for the cohesive feel.

The pickups are Lollar Low Wind Imperials, wired 50s style through Jupiter Vintage Yellow caps and Davies Radio knobs. A Kluson ABR-1 and stop tailpiece sit on the top, the Honduran mahogany neck joins with an extra long mortise and tenon on a 24 7/8" scale, and the rosewood board carries mother-of-pearl long dots. The peghead is Collings' Flipped Haircut.

For the same outline as a fully hollow, trestle-braced guitar, look at the 620 SM LC.
