collings-cl-deluxe
Collings CL Deluxe

The CL Deluxe is the dressier version of Collings' City Limits solid body: Honduran mahogany with a premium flamed maple top, bound in grained ivoroid on the body, fingerboard and peghead, with no pickguard covering the maple. The knobs, pickup rings and truss rod cover are grained ivoroid to match.

Underneath it is the same guitar as the CL. The neck is set with an extra-long mortise and tenon joint into a contoured heel, the back has comfort carves, and the cutaway clears the upper frets. Lollar Standard Wind Imperial humbuckers are wired 50s-style through CTS 500K pots and Jupiter Vintage Yellow caps, on a 24 7/8" scale with a 12" radius rosewood board and Kluson hardware.

For the same build in non-grained ivoroid with a cream pickguard, look at the CL. Collings shows the Deluxe with an optional quilted maple top and parallelogram inlays, and those choices sit among the options listed below.

The photo shows one example build.

Options for this model include:

Nonstandard, premium and metallic finishes

Aged finish and hardware

ThroBak humbuckers

Bigsby vibrato

Parallelogram or broken glass inlays

Gold hardware

60s neck profile

Left-handed build

Price subject to change based on options chosen.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Country of Origin: USA (built in Austin, Texas)
Construction: Solid body
Body: Honduran mahogany
Top: Premium flamed maple
Body Binding: Grained ivoroid
Pickguard: None
Guitar Finish: High gloss nitrocellulose lacquer

NECK
Neck: Honduran mahogany
Neck Joint: Extra long mortise & tenon
Scale Length: 24 7/8"
Fingerboard: Rosewood w/ MOP long dots
Fingerboard Radius: 12"
Fingerboard Binding: Grained ivoroid
Frets: Medium 18% nickel-silver
Nut: 1 11/16"
Truss Rod Cover: Grained ivoroid
Peghead Profile: Haircut
Peghead Veneer: Ebony w/ MOP Collings logo
Peghead Binding: Grained ivoroid

ELECTRONICS
Pickups: Lollar Std Wind Imperial Humbuckers
Pickup Rings: Custom grained ivoroid
Pots/Caps: CTS 500K / Jupiter Vintage Yellow
Wiring: 50s style
Knobs: Custom grained ivoroid top hat

HARDWARE
Bridge: Kluson ABR-1 (Nickel-plated Zinc)
Tailpiece: Kluson Stop Tailpiece (nickel-plated zinc, steel studs)
Tuners: Nickel Gotoh w/ Collings logo
Strings: D'Addario NYXL1046 (.010" - .046")

DIMENSIONS
Body Width: 13 1/2"
Body Length: 17"
Body Depth: 1 7/8"
Total Length: 38 1/2"

CASE
Case: Deluxe hardshell case
