fender-brent-mason-telecaster
Fender Brent Mason Telecaster

Brent Mason has played on well over 1,000 albums out of Nashville, for Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, George Jones and Dolly Parton among many others. This Stories Collection Telecaster recreates the '67 Tele he found in a Nashville shop in the early eighties, stripped and resprayed in grey auto primer, then rebuilt as an all-in-one session guitar. The ash body wears Primer Gray satin to match.

The pickups are all Seymour Duncan: a Vintage Stack Tele STK-T3B at the bridge, a Hot Stack Strat STK-S2 in the middle and a Vintage Mini HB at the neck. The blade works like a normal Tele, and a push/pull on the tone knob brings the middle pickup in or out, with its own volume control, so you can add it to any setting. A Glaser Bender system raises a string's pitch from the strap, for pedal steel style lines.

The late '60s "C" neck has a 7.25" radius, round under the hand and good for chords, with vintage tall frets and locking tuners.

For a stock Tele from that decade, compare the American Vintage II 1963 Telecaster.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Country of Origin: USA
Body Material: Ash
Body Finish: Satin Urethane
Body Shape: Telecaster
Pickguard: 3-Ply Black/White/Black

NECK
Neck Material: Maple
Neck Finish: Satin Urethane
Neck Shape: Late '60s "C"
Fingerboard Radius: 7.25" (184.1 mm)
Fingerboard Material: Maple
Position Inlays: Black Pearloid Dot
Side Dots: Black
Number of Frets: 21
Fret Size: Vintage Tall
Nut Material: Bone
Nut Width: 1.625" (41.3 mm)
Scale Length: 25.5" (648 mm)

ELECTRONICS
Bridge Pickup: Seymour Duncan Vintage Stack Tele STK-T3B
Middle Pickup: Seymour Duncan Hot Stack Strat STK-S2
Neck Pickup: Seymour Duncan Vintage Mini HB
Pickup Configuration: SSH
Controls: Master Volume, Middle Pickup Volume, Master Tone with Push/Pull
Switching: 3-Position Blade: Position 1.
