fender-custom-shop-american-custom-stratocaster-nos-maple
Fender Custom Shop American Custom Stratocaster NOS - Maple

This version of the American Custom Stratocaster pairs a two-piece select ash body with a one-piece 2A roasted birdseye maple neck, then dresses it in gold hardware and a 1-Ply Black Anodized Aluminum pickguard. Underneath are three Custom Shop Hand-Wound Dual-Mag II Strat pickups, with a reverse-wound, reverse-polarity middle that cancels hum in positions 2 and 4.

The neck has 21 Jumbo (6100) frets on a 9.5" to 12" compound radius, which keeps chording comfortable near the nut and lets bends ring without choking higher up. Roasting darkens the maple and makes it more stable as humidity changes. A blend control brings the neck pickup into positions 1 and 2, and the bridge is a vintage-style synchronized tremolo with bent steel saddles.

Two finishes: Aged White Blonde and Wide-Fade Chocolate 2-Color Sunburst. For the same build with a 3A Rosewood fingerboard, see the American Custom Stratocaster NOS Rosewood. The American Custom Stratocaster NOS moves to 22 stainless steel frets and Underwound '69 pickups.

The photos show one example. Wood grain and aging vary from guitar to guitar, so the one built for you will differ in the details.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Country of Origin: USA
Body Material: 2-Piece Select Ash
Body Finish: WLS Undercoat
Body Shape: Stratocaster
Pickguard: 1-Ply Black Anodized Aluminum
Aging: NOS

NECK
Neck Material: 1-Piece 2A Roasted Birdseye Maple
Neck Finish: Nitrocellulose Lacquer
Neck Shape: 1959 "D"
Fingerboard Radius: 9.5" to 12" Compound Radius
Fingerboard Material: 1-Piece Roasted 2A Birdseye Maple Neck
Position Inlays: Mother of Pearl Dot - 0.25"
Number of Frets: 21
Fret Size: Jumbo (6100)
Truss Rod: Early '60s
Nut Material: Bone
Nut Width: 1.650" (42 mm)
Scale Length: 25.5" (648 mm)

ELECTRONICS
Bridge Pickup: Custom Shop Hand-Wound Dual-Mag II Strat
Middle Pickup: Custom Shop Hand-Wound RWRP Dual-Mag II Strat
Neck Pickup: Custom Shop Hand-Wound Dual-Mag II Strat
Pickup Configuration: SSS
Controls: Master Volume, Master Tone, 1/2 Blend
Switching: 5-Position Blade: Position 1.
