fender-kurt-cobain-jaguar
Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar

The Kurt Cobain Jaguar recreates, in new condition, the heavily modified 1965 Jaguar he played in Nirvana's early 90s years. The big change from a stock Jaguar is the pickups: a DiMarzio PAF 36th Anniversary DP103 in the neck and a DiMarzio Super Distortion DP100 at the bridge, selected by a three-way toggle on a modified lower plate.

The classic Jaguar lead and rhythm circuits stay. In lead mode you get a volume for each pickup and a master tone on knurled chrome dome knobs. Flip the slide switch and the rhythm circuit gives the neck pickup its own volume and tone on thumbwheels. A black chrome Adjusto-Matic bridge sits ahead of the floating tremolo tailpiece, which has a lock button to stop it moving. The neck is a modern C with a bound 9.5" radius rosewood board and 22 medium jumbo frets on the Jaguar's 24" scale, strung with .010-.052s.

3-Color Sunburst with a tortoiseshell pickguard, in right-handed and left-handed versions, with a hardshell case and a book of photos and an interview with his guitar tech. For the same body with single-coils and a lot more switching, see the Johnny Marr Jaguar.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Country of Origin: Mexico
Body Material: Alder
Body Finish: Gloss Polyester
Body Shape: Jaguar
Pickguard: 4-Ply Tortoiseshell

NECK
Neck Material: Maple
Neck Finish: Gloss Urethane
Neck Shape: Modern "C"
Fingerboard Radius: 9.5" (241 mm)
Fingerboard Material: Rosewood
Position Inlays: Ivory Dot or Pearloid Dot (by finish)
Number of Frets: 22
Fret Size: Medium Jumbo
Truss Rod: Vintage-Style Butt Adjust
Nut Material: Synthetic Bone
Nut Width: 1.650" (42 mm)
Scale Length: 24" (610 mm)

ELECTRONICS
Bridge Pickup: DiMarzio Super Distortion DP100
Neck Pickup: DiMarzio PAF 36th Anniversary DP103
Pickup Configuration: HH
Controls: Lead Circuit Controls (Slide Switch Down): Volume (Neck), Volume (Bridge), Master Tone; Rhythm Circuit Controls (Slide Switch Up): Two Thumbwheel Controls for Neck Pickup Volume and Tone
Switching: 3-Position Toggle: Position 1.
