friedman-small-box-head
Friedman Smallbox Head

The Smallbox is a 50-watt, two-channel head for players who want a plexi sound and Friedman's own high-gain sound in the same box. Two EL34s and three 12AX7s, hand-wired in the USA. The first channel is the plexi side: it goes from clean through crunch to a full roar, and it cleans up when you roll back the guitar's volume. The second channel is the modern high gain Friedman built his name on.

Each channel has its own gain and master, and they share Bass, Middle, Treble and Presence. The clean channel has a 3-position Bright switch, the footswitch is a single button with an LED, and there is a line out with its own level control alongside the series effects loop.

The Plex Head shares the 50 watts and the EL34 pair but is all vintage, with two non-master channels and a post-phase master. The Smallbox is the one if you also want a dedicated high-gain channel. The plexi channel is also where the BE-100 Deluxe borrowed its clean channel from. The same amp comes as the Smallbox 1x12 Combo.

SPECIFICATIONS

AMPLIFIER
Country of Origin: United States
Configuration: 50 Watt all-tube head
Channels: Two channels
Construction: Hand-wired in the USA
Transformers: Custom USA made transformers

TUBES
Power Tubes: 2 x EL-34
Preamp Tubes: 3 x 12AX7

CONTROLS
Gain and Volume: Two master volumes and two gain controls
EQ: Shared channel EQ consisting of bass, middle, treble and presence
Bright: Clean channel (think Plexi) has a 3 position bright switch

CONNECTIONS
Line Out: Line out with level control
Effects Loop: Ultra transparent series FX Loop
Impedance: 4, 8 and 16 ohm impedance Selector Switch

FEATURES
Limited lifetime warranty

DIMENSIONS
Dimensions: 8.75″ (D) x 24″ (W) x 10″ (H)
Weight: 33.5 lbs.

ACCESSORIES
Footswitch: Single button footswitch with LED
