A centre block resists feedback at volume, and Gretsch voiced this one for a quicker attack and a stronger midrange. Two Pro Twin Six humbuckers run through separate neck and bridge volumes, a master volume with a treble bleed circuit and a no-load master tone with a "Squeezebox" capacitor.

The hardware is a string-thru Bigsby B7GP on an Adjusto-Matic bridge, Gotoh locking tuners, a Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut and Grover strap locks. The Standard "U" maple neck carries a 12" ebony board with rolled edges, 22 medium jumbo frets and Luminlay side dots on a 24.6" scale.

Both finishes, Midnight Sapphire and Blackberry, come with gold hardware and a gold pickguard.
