martin-0-12-28-modern-deluxe
Martin 012-28 Modern Deluxe

The 012-28 Modern Deluxe sets a European Red Spruce top over East Indian rosewood on the 0-12 fret body. The top and its Adirondack spruce braces are both treated with Martin's VTS process, and the bracing is GE-Scalloped. The neck joins at the 12th fret, which moves the bridge toward the centre of the lower bout, and it finishes in a slotted headstock with Waverly gold side-mount tuners and a 1933 CFM script logo inlay.

The Vintage Deluxe neck is select mahogany with a High-Performance Taper and a 1 13/16'' nut, wider than most of the line, so a fingerpicking hand has more room between strings. Abalone diamonds and squares in the long pattern run up the ebony board, and the pyramid bridge carries a compensated bone saddle and Liquidmetal pins with red acrylic dots. European flamed maple does the binding, heelcap and endpiece against bold herringbone around the top and a zig-zag back strip.

The 0012-28 Modern Deluxe is this build on the larger 00-12 fret body. For a 14-fret neck and a solid headstock, look at the 00-28 Modern Deluxe.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Country of Origin: USA (Nazareth, Pennsylvania)
Body Size: 0-12 Fret
Construction: Dovetail Neck Joint
Back Material: East Indian Rosewood
Side Material: East Indian Rosewood
Back and Sides Finish: Gloss
Side Detail: Modern Deluxe
Back Purfling/Strip: Zig-Zag Authentic
Back Inlay Material: Multi-Stripe
Bracing Pattern: X Brace
Brace Shape: GE-Scalloped
Brace Material: Adirondack Spruce with VTS
Brace Size: 1/4"
Endpiece: European Flamed Maple
Endpiece Inlay: Multi-Stripe
Top Material: European Red Spruce w/ VTS
Finish Top: Gloss
Top Color: Clear
Top Inlay Material: Bold Herringbone
Binding: European Flamed Maple
Rosette: Style 28 Multi-Stripe

NECK
Neck Shape: Vintage Deluxe
Neck Taper: High-Performance Taper
Neck Material: Select Mahogany
Neck Color: Dark Mahogany
Finish Neck: Satin
Scale Length: 24.9"
Number of Frets Total: 20
Neck Joins Body At: 12th Fret
Heelcap: European Flamed Maple
Fingerboard Material: Ebony
Fingerboard Width at 12th Fret: 2 1/4''
Fingerboard Width at Nut: 1 13/16''
Fingerboard Inlay Style: Diamonds and Squares Long Pattern
Fingerboard Inlay Material: Abalone
Side Dots: Abalone
Headstock Shape: Slotted with Square Taper and Diamond
Headplate Material: East Indian Rosewood
Headplate Logo Style: 1933 CFM Script Inlay
Pleked: Yes

HARDWARE
Bridge Material: Ebony
Bridge Style: Pyramid - Drop in Saddle
Bridge String Spacing: 2 1/4"
Bridge Pin Material: Liquidmetal®
Bridge Pin Dots: Red Acrylic
Saddle: Compensated Bone
Saddle Radius: 16"
Tuning Machines: Waverly® Gold Side Mount
Knob: Butterbean
Nut Material: Bone

CASE
Case: Ply Hardshell
