martin-custom-shop-m-paisley
Martin Custom Shop M Paisley Ember Burst

The Custom Shop M Paisley Ember Burst is a design from Martin President and CEO Thomas Ripsam. It is an M-14 Fret (0000-14 Fret) body in quilted maple with an Engelmann spruce top, all in gloss Ember Burst, which carries onto the black walnut neck. A custom paisley design on the top works classic Martin motifs into the pattern.

The trim follows the same thread: European flamed maple binding on the body, fingerboard and headplate, a bold herringbone top inlay, custom 4pt snowflake inlays in abalone on ebony, and a quilted maple headplate with a block inlay logo. Underneath is a hand-shaped, GE-scalloped Forward Shifted X-Brace in Adirondack spruce.

The neck is a GE Modified Low Oval with the High-Performance Taper and a 1 3/4" nut, with Waverly gold tuners, bone pins and an LR Baggs Anthem with a battery box. Martin describes the sound as bright and well defined. It suits someone who wants a showpiece that still plugs in. For a Custom Shop build in traditional dress, see the Custom Shop D-18.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Country of Origin: USA (Nazareth, Pennsylvania)
Body Size: M-14 Fret (0000-14 Fret)
Construction: Dovetail Neck Joint
Back Material: Quilted Maple
Side Material: Quilted Maple
Back and Sides Finish: Gloss
Back and Sides Color: Ember Burst
Back Purfling/Strip: Style 28 with Black Stripe
Bracing Pattern: Forward Shifted X-Brace
Brace Shape: GE-Scalloped Hand Shaped
Brace Material: Adirondack Spruce
Brace Size: 5/16"
Top Material: Engelmann Spruce
Finish Top: Gloss
Top Color: Ember Burst
Top Inlay Material: Bold Herringbone
Top Detail: Custom Paisley Design
Binding: European Flamed Maple
Rosette: Style 28 Multi-Stripe

NECK
Neck Shape: GE Modified Low Oval
Neck Taper: High-Performance Taper
Neck Material: Black Walnut
Neck Color: Ember Burst
Finish Neck: Gloss
Scale Length: 25.4"
Number of Frets Total: 20
Neck Joins Body At: 14th Fret
Heelcap: European Flamed Maple
Fingerboard Material: Ebony
Fingerboard Width at 12th Fret: 2 1/8''
Fingerboard Width at Nut: 1 3/4''
Fingerboard Inlay Style: Custom 4pt Snowflake Design
Fingerboard Inlay Material: Abalone
Fingerboard Binding Material: European Flamed Maple
Side Dots: Black
Headstock Shape: Solid with Square Taper
Headplate Material: Quilted Maple
Headplate Logo Style: Block Inlay
Headplate Binding Material: European Flamed Maple
Pleked: Yes

ELECTRONICS
Electronics: LR Baggs - Anthem w/Battery Box

HARDWARE
Bridge Material: Ebony
Bridge Style: GE Modern Belly - Drop in Saddle
Bridge String Spacing: 2 5/32"
Bridge Pin Material: Bone
Bridge Pin Dots: Faux Tortoise
Saddle: Bone
Saddle Radius: 16"
Tuning Machines: Waverly Gold
Knob: Butterbean
Nut Material: Bone

CASE
Case: Hardshell

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0700/1220/7188/files/Custom_20Shop_20M_20Paisley_20Ember_20Burst_f_sq.jpg?v=1791397534
