The top and the scalloped Forward Shifted X Brace are Adirondack spruce with VTS, the neck is genuine mahogany, and the body is finished in Vintage Gloss with a clear top.

The neck is the Authentic 1937 shape with the Standard Taper, 1 3/4" at the nut and 2 1/4" at the 12th fret. The Authentic Belly bridge with its glue-in long saddle spaces the strings 2 5/16" apart, wider than the 2 5/32" on the Standard Series D-28, so the picking hand has more room.

The trim is period Style 28: a bold herringbone top inlay, a Zig-Zag Authentic back strip, antique white binding, 1937 Diamonds and Squares Long abalone inlays, faux ivory pins, a Guatemalan rosewood headplate with a diamond on the headstock, and Waverly nickel open-back tuners.
