martin-om-45
Martin OM-45

The OM-45 sits at the top of Martin's Standard Series OMs and carries the most abalone of any OM here: around the top, through the rosette and along the sides, with Style 45 Hexagon inlays in abalone on the bound ebony board. The East Indian rosewood headplate has the Golden Era block logo inlaid and is bound in antique white with multi-stripe.

The body is the 000 on the 25.4" scale, in East Indian rosewood with a spruce top in Aging Toner and Golden Era Scalloped X bracing. The neck is genuine mahogany, a Golden Era (GE) Modified Low Oval with the High-Performance Taper, 1 3/4" at the nut and finished in gloss. A bone nut, compensated bone saddle, bone bridge pins and gold open-gear tuners complete it.

It is for the player who wants the long-scale OM in its most ornate Standard Series form. The OM-42 shares the body, woods and neck; the differences are the abalone along the sides and the hexagon inlays in place of snowflakes. For Style 45 on a dreadnought, look at the D-45.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Country of Origin: USA (Nazareth, Pennsylvania)
Body Size: 000-14 Fret
Construction: Dovetail Neck Joint
Back Material: East Indian Rosewood
Side Material: East Indian Rosewood
Back and Sides Finish: Gloss
Back and Sides Color: Natural
Back Purfling/Strip: Style 45 with Black Stripe
Back Inlay Material: Abalone with Multi-Stripe
Side Inlay Material: Abalone with Multi-Stripe
Bracing Pattern: X Brace
Brace Shape: Golden Era Scalloped
Brace Material: Spruce
Brace Size: 1/4"
Endpiece: Antique White
Endpiece Inlay: Abalone with Multi-Stripe
Top Material: Spruce
Finish Top: Gloss
Top Color: Aging Toner
Top Inlay Material: Abalone with Multi-Stripe
Binding: Antique White
Pickguard: Faux Tortoise
Rosette: Abalone with Multi-Stripe

NECK
Neck Shape: Golden Era (GE) Modified Low Oval
Neck Taper: High-Performance Taper
Neck Material: Genuine Mahogany
Neck Color: Dark Mahogany
Finish Neck: Gloss
Scale Length: 25.4"
Number of Frets Total: 20
Neck Joins Body At: 14th Fret
Heelcap: Antique White
Fingerboard Material: Ebony
Fingerboard Width at 12th Fret: 2 1/8''
Fingerboard Width at Nut: 1 3/4''
Fingerboard Inlay Style: Style 45 Hexagon
Fingerboard Inlay Material: Abalone
Fingerboard Binding Material: Antique White
Side Dots: Black
Headstock Shape: Solid with Square Taper and Diamond
Headplate Material: East Indian Rosewood
Headplate Logo Style: Block Inlay Golden Era
Headplate Binding Material: Antique White with Multi-Stripe
Pleked: Yes

HARDWARE
Bridge Material: Ebony
Bridge Style: Golden Era Modern Belly - Drop-In Saddle
Bridge String Spacing: 2 5/32"
Bridge Pin Material: Bone
Bridge Pin Dots: Abalone
Saddle: Compensated Bone
Saddle Radius: 16"
Tuning Machines: Gold Open Gear
Knob: Butterbean
Nut Material: Bone

CASE
Case: Hardshell
