prs-sonzera-20-1x12-combo
PRS Sonzera 20 1x12 Combo

The Sonzera 20 is a two-channel, 20-watt combo with a pair of 5881 power tubes, four 12AX7s and a Celestion V-Type speaker. PRS modelled the clean channel on American amps of the mid-1960s and built the gain channel from a related circuit.

That shared circuit lets the gain channel work two ways. Keep Drive and Level low and it acts as a boosted clean, or turn them up for heavy distortion. Its bright switch is tuned to suit single coils and neck pickups. Spring reverb and channel switching are both on the included two-button footswitch, and the effects loop takes your time-based pedals.

We'd point you to the Sonzera if you want reverb built in and two channels you can set close together or far apart. The DGT 15 1x12 Combo is the single-channel alternative with tremolo, and the Archon 50 1x12 Combo goes further into gain at 50 watts.

SPECIFICATIONS

AMPLIFIER
Country of Origin: Indonesia
Available Configurations: Combo
Channels: Gain & Clean
Wattage: 20

TUBES
Power Tubes: (2) 5881
Preamp Tubes: (4) 12AX7 / ECC83
V1: Common Input Gain Stage
V2: Gain Channel
V3: Reverb
V4: Phase Inverter

CONTROLS
Gain Channel: Treble, Middle, Bass, Level, Drive
Clean Channel: Volume, Treble, Bass
Global Controls: Channel Select Switch, Reverb, Presence

CONNECTIONS
Inlet: Fused Power Inlet (IEC)
Effects Loop: Loop Return, Loop Send
Extension Speaker Jacks: 5
Ohm Switching: (2) 4 ohm & (2) 8 ohm parallel, (1) 16 ohm
Bias: Adjustable with Monitoring Jacks

HARDWARE
Cabinet Material / Construction: Plywood
Covering: Textured Black Vinyl
Grill Cloth: Salt and Pepper
Piping: Silver
Speakers: Celestion V-Type

DIMENSIONS
Amp Width: 19.5" (49.53 cm)
Amp Depth: 10.5" (26.67 cm)
Amp Height: 18" (45.72 cm)
Amp Weight: 42 lbs.
