suhr-buffer-pedal
Suhr Buffer

The Suhr Buffer is a unity-gain signal buffer and line driver in a machined billet aluminum enclosure. It sits in the chain to undo the capacitance that long cable runs and a board full of patch cables add up to, and it does that without changing the guitar's tone or output level.

It has two outputs. The second, labelled ISO, runs through a transformer to break ground loops, and its 180º phase switch keeps a signal split between two amps in phase. Suhr suggests placing it first in the chain, with one exception: a vintage-style fuzz such as a Fuzz Face or Tone Bender goes ahead of it, so the fuzz keeps its direct connection to the guitar's pickups.

For a transformer-isolated feed taken from an amp's speaker output instead, look at the ISO Line Out.

SPECIFICATIONS

FEATURES
Country of Origin: United States
Type: Transparent signal buffer/line driver
Buffering: Unity buffering
Components: Low noise audiophile Op-Amps, Glass Epoxy PCB
Enclosure: Machined billet aluminum
Phase Switch (ø): Reverses the polarity of the ISO Output by 180º

CONNECTIONS
Input: Instrument Input
Output: Primary output
ISO Output: Transformer isolated secondary output
Input Impedance: 1M Ω
Output Impedance: 150 Ω

POWER
Power Connector: 9v
DC Inlet: 9-18Vdc, center negative
Operating Voltage: 4.5Vdc - 18Vdc
Maximum Voltage: 20Vdc
Over Voltage Protection: Yes
ROHS Compliant: Yes

DIMENSIONS
Dimensions: 2.87" (L) x 2.53" (W) x 1.23" (D)
Weight: .379lbs
