suhr-dark-discovery-black-edition
Suhr Dark Discovery Black Cerakote Edition

The Dark Discovery is the Discovery Analog Delay in a black Cerakote finish, a thin-film ceramic coating Suhr uses for its durability. Underneath it is the same circuit: four reissued MN3005 bucket-brigade chips carrying an all-analog signal path, with digital control on top.

That control covers 127 presets, a tap tempo that averages your last four taps, and delay times from 40ms to 1100ms, extendable to 17ms-2000ms and beyond. The Lo-Cut and Hi-Cut knobs shape the repeats, the modulation section runs triangle, sine or square waves, and any knob can be mapped to an expression pedal with the mapping saved per preset. Full 5-pin MIDI In and Out/Thru puts every parameter under a controller or DAW, and kill dry mode suits a parallel effects loop.

It is offered with the universal power supply or as the pedal alone. For the same delay in its standard finish, see the Discovery Analog Delay.

SPECIFICATIONS

FEATURES
Country of Origin: United States
Finish: Black Cerakote
Assembly: Assembled in the USA
Circuit: Four re-issued MN3005 bucket-brigade analog-delay chips
Presets: 127 programmable presets
Delay Time: 40ms-1100ms, expandable to 17ms-2000ms & beyond with up/down & division buttons
Subdivisions: Quarter, dotted-eighth, eighth note triplet, eighth note, sixteenth note
Display: 7-segment display for BPM, milliseconds or preset number
Tap Tempo: Smart Tap-Tempo, averages your last four taps
Bypass: Switchable true-bypass or buffered-bypass
Limiter: Soft clipping limiter for infinite feedback and oscillations
Kill Dry: Kill dry mode for parallel effects loops
Control: Fully programmable digital-control

CONTROLS
Filter: High & Lo Cut controls
Modulation: Speed & depth controls
Modulation Waveforms: Triangle, Sine, Square
Expression: Every knob mappable to an expression pedal, custom mapping savable to each preset

CONNECTIONS
MIDI: 5-pin MIDI In & Out/Thru
MIDI Control: Every parameter can be controlled by MIDI; sends patch changes to other MIDI devices
Preset Backup: Save all presets to a SysEx file
Expression Pedal: Yes

POWER
Power Supply: 18V DC
Included: Universal power supply, or no power supply (pedal only), depending on version
