suhr-pete-thorn-signature-series-standard
Suhr Pete Thorn Signature Series Standard

The Pete Thorn Signature Series Standard is a two-humbucker Suhr Standard with a mahogany body under a plain maple top, scraped binding, a mahogany neck on an Indian rosewood board, and jumbo stainless frets on a 10" to 14" radius. Suhr developed it from a custom-spec Standard for NAMM 2017 and mounted the Thornbuckers in rings, a first for Suhr.

Two builds are on our list, and the bridge tells them apart. The Wilkinson Locking Tremolo guitars (Black, Gold, Ocean Turquoise Metallic, Garnet Red) are the original spec: chambered mahogany, an Even C Slim neck at .800" to .880" on a 1.650" nut, raw nickel Thornbuckers, a Wilkinson WVS130 and a Travel Pro softshell case. The Suhr 2-Post guitars (Black, Cactus Green Metallic) are the current version, with a Fijian mahogany body, a fuller Pete Thorn 60's Soft V neck at .830" to .910" on a 1.687" nut, solid saddles, a push/pull pot that puts the bridge pickup in parallel, and a black hardshell case.

Slim-neck players should start with a Wilkinson guitar; the 2-Post suits a fuller grip and adds the parallel bridge sound. The Pete Thorn Standard HSS carries the signature onto alder with single coils.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Country of Origin: United States
Body Shape: Standard
Body Finish: Gloss
Body Wood: Chambered Mahogany (Wilkinson Locking Tremolo) or Fijian Mahogany (Suhr 2-Post)
Top Wood: 3/16" Plain Maple (Wilkinson Locking Tremolo) or Plain Maple (Suhr 2-Post)
Body Binding: Scraped

NECK
Neck Wood: Mahogany
Neck Finish: Satin
Fingerboard Wood: Indian Rosewood
Neck Back Shape: Even C Slim .800"-.880" (Wilkinson Locking Tremolo) or Pete Thorn 60's Soft V .830"-.910" (Suhr 2-Post)
Fingerboard Radius: 10"-14" Compound
Frets: Jumbo Stainless Steel (.057"x.110")
Nut: 1.650" Tusq (Wilkinson Locking Tremolo) or 1.687" Tusq (Suhr 2-Post)
Headstock: Laser Engraved Pete Thorn Signature (Wilkinson Locking Tremolo) or Mother of Pearl Inlay Logo (Suhr 2-Post)

ELECTRONICS
Bridge Pickup: Thornbucker+ (Raw Nickel on Wilkinson Locking Tremolo models)
Neck Pickup: Thornbucker (Raw Nickel on Wilkinson Locking Tremolo models)
Optional Electronics: Push/Pull Parallel Bridge (Suhr 2-Post)

HARDWARE
Tuning Machines: Suhr Locking
Bridge: Wilkinson WVS130 Locking Saddle Bridge or Suhr 2-Post Tremolo, solid saddles, steel block
Color: Chrome
Case: Travel Pro - Premium Softshell Case (Wilkinson Locking Tremolo) or Hardshell Black (Suhr 2-Post)
