suhr-shiba-drive-black-edition
Suhr Shiba Drive Black Edition

The Shiba Drive is Suhr's smooth overdrive, built to work as well into an amp's clean channel as stacked in front of its drive channel. Suhr tuned the gain staging toward saturation and upper harmonics for more midrange articulation and sustain, while keeping the low end defined. This version uses the Shiba Reloaded circuit and tone.

It is voiced for single coils and humbuckers alike, and the guitar's volume knob takes it from a pushed clean to classic rock drive. The three-position Smooth switch sets the top end: left rolls off a little high end to warm up single coils, middle stays open and natural, and right rolls off more for chunky rhythm parts and a violin-like lead. Relay true bypass, FX Link remote switching and a low battery monitor are on board.

The Shiba Mini Black Edition puts the same idea in a smaller box with a two-position switch. For more gain, compare the Riot Distortion Black Edition.

SPECIFICATIONS

FEATURES
Country of Origin: United States
Type: Overdrive
Circuit: Shiba Reloaded
Bypass: True Bypass via a relay
Low Battery Monitor: Yes, switches the pedal to True Bypass when battery voltage is too low

CONTROLS
3-Position Smooth Switch: Left (mild high-end roll off), Middle (natural, open overdrive), Right (more pronounced high-end roll off)

CONNECTIONS
Output Impedance: 600 ohm
FX Link Connector: 1/8" Mono
FX Link Max Voltage: 3.3Vdc
Shield → Tip: Activate Pedal

POWER
Power Connector: 9Vdc, center negative, 2.1mm x 5.5mm
Operating Voltage: 4V to 18V (nominal 9V)
Maximum Voltage: 20Vdc
Current Consumption: 8mA
Reverse Battery Protection: Yes
Over Voltage Protection: Yes
Estimated Battery Life: 75 - 100 hours of continuous use
ROHS Compliant: Yes

DIMENSIONS
Dimensions: 2.5"(W) x 4.5"(D) x 1.25"(H)
Weight: 0.75lb
