taylor-gold-label-517e
Taylor Gold Label 517e

The Gold Label 517e is the mahogany Grand Pacific. That is Taylor's round-shoulder dreadnought, built here with a slightly deeper body, Neo-Tropical Mahogany back and sides, a torrefied Sitka spruce top and fanned V-Class bracing. Taylor set out to make it sound older and more traditional, with a strong low end and a clear, woody midrange.

The long-tenon Action Control Neck ties neck and body together more closely for low-end resonance, and string height adjusts at the soundhole. The neck itself is slender and satin-finished. Two details are the collection's own: the modified headstock with an angled back cut and a script Taylor logo inlay, and the shape of the pickguard. A Honduran rosewood Curve Wing bridge with Indian rosewood pins, cream binding, a single-ring rosette and Crest inlays complete it, and the electronics are an LR Baggs Element VTC.

It comes in Natural, Sunburst with a firestripe or a cream pickguard, and Blacktop with cream. For mahogany in a square-shoulder Dreadnought, look at the Gold Label 510e. For this body in rosewood, the Gold Label 717e is Indian and the 817e is Honduran.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Country of Origin: USA
Body Shape: Grand Pacific
Bracing System: Fanned V-Class with Tonal Rout
Number of Strings: 6 String
Top Wood: Spruce
Back/Side Wood: Neo-Tropical Mahogany
Rosette: Cream (.075")/.032" Black/Cream (.075") Single Ring
Back Configuration: 2-piece No Wedge
Body Binding: Cream
Armrest: None
Top Finish: Gloss
Back/Side Finish: Gloss

NECK
Neck Wood: Neo-Tropical Mahogany
Fretboard Wood: West African Crelicam Ebony
Neck Profile: Standard Carve
Fretboard Inlay: Cream Crest
Fretboard Binding: West African Crelicam Ebony
Neck Finish: Satin
Nut Width: 1-3/4"
Peghead Veneer Wood: West African Crelicam Ebony
Scale Length: 25-1/2"
Peghead Inlay: Cream Crest
Peghead Type: Paddle
Peghead Binding: None
Peghead Finish: Gloss

ELECTRONICS
Electronics: LR Baggs - Element VTC

HARDWARE
Bridge: Honduran Rosewood
Nut & Saddle: White TUSQ Nut, White Micarta Saddle
Bridge Pins: Indian Rosewood
Strings: D'Addario XS Coated Phosphor Bronze Light (.012 - .053)
Pickguard: By finish, as shown
Tuners: Taylor Nickel with Nickel Buttons
Strap Pin: Black
End Pin: Bronze

CASE
Case/Bag: Gold Label Hardshell Case British Cocoa

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0700/1220/7188/files/Taylor-Gold-Label-517e-1202125087-FrontLeft-2025_sq.jpg?v=1791348628
