taylor-somos-150ce-bajo-quinto-10-string
Taylor Somos 150ce Bajo Quinto

The Somos 150ce Bajo Quinto is a 10-string Dreadnought built as a bajo quinto, a sound familiar from Mexican music. The strings run in five courses tuned in fourths, A-D-G-C-F, with octave pairs on the A and D courses and unison pairs on the three above, which gives it a bold, percussive rhythm voice.

The top is torrefied spruce with C-Class bracing, Taylor's cantilevered take on its V-Class design, for more sustain and volume and better agreement between notes along the neck. The neck is the slim Taylor carve with a 1-7/8" nut, and an EMG ACS pickup is fitted for playing amplified. It suits a player in the tradition as well as a guitarist who wants to explore double-course textures.

For the bajo quinto in gloss black over layered Big Leaf maple, look at the Somos 250ce Plus BLK Bajo Quinto; for all koa with a shaded edgeburst, the Somos 260ce-K DLX Bajo Quinto. The Somos 150ce Doce Doble is its 12-string companion.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Country of Origin: Mexico
Body Shape: Dreadnought
Bracing System: C-Class Bracing
Number of Strings: 10 String
Top Wood: Torrefied Spruce

NECK
Fretboard Wood: West African Crelicam Ebony
Neck Profile: Standard Carve
Nut Width: 1-7/8"
Peghead Veneer Wood: West African Crelicam Ebony
Scale Length: 25-1/2"
Peghead Type: Paddle

ELECTRONICS
Electronics: EMG ACS Pickup

HARDWARE
Bridge: West African Crelicam Ebony
Nut & Saddle: White TUSQ Nut, White Micarta Saddle
Strings: D'Addario Bajo Quinto-10, .026-.078

CASE
Case/Bag: Structured Gig Bag

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0700/1220/7188/files/Taylor-150ce-Bajo-Quinto-Front-Left_0_sq.jpg?v=1791348959
