tom-anderson-cobra-special-t
Tom Anderson Cobra Special T

The Cobra Special T is the all-mahogany Cobra: a T body with no maple top, a mahogany neck with a rosewood board, and the 24-3/4" scale that runs through the whole Cobra family. Anderson uses "Special" to mean an all-mahogany body, and that is what separates it from the Cobra T, which carries a maple top.

Anderson describes its voice as big and centred on the mids. The shorter scale puts slightly less tension on the strings than 25-1/2", so bends come a little easier. Anderson's page lists any of its humbuckers or its P90-style pickups for this model.

It suits a player who wants the Cobra feel in one wood from front to back. For the same build with a figured top, look at the Cobra T. For the S shape, look at the Cobra S.

The guitar in the photo is one customer's build in Black, shown as an example. Every Anderson is built to order: after you order, we go through the build with you, from the woods and finish to the neck shape, frets, pickups and hardware.

Price subject to change based on options chosen.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Country of Origin: USA (Newbury Park, California)
Model: Tom Anderson Cobra Special T
Body: Mahogany body (or a mahogany-like wood)
Body Woods: Mahogany
Pickguard: None
Finish: Gloss or satin

NECK
Neck: Mahogany back, rosewood fingerboard
Scale Length: 24-3/4"
Frets: Stainless steel; Heavy, Medium-Jumbo, Tall-Thin, Small or Jumbo
Nut Width: 1-5/8" or 1-11/16"
Neck Profile: Any Anderson neck shape

ELECTRONICS
Pickups: Any Anderson Pickupworks model
Switching: 3-way or 5-way

HARDWARE
Bridge: Vintage tremolo or fixed bridge
Tuners: Locking or split shaft
Hardware: Chrome or nickel
Strings: D'Addario XS coated, 10-46

CASE
Case: Anderson logo gig bag
