tom-anderson-guardian-angel
Tom Anderson Guardian Angel

The Guardian Angel is the Angel with a pickguard: a figured top in quilt maple, koa or walnut over an alder or basswood back, a maple neck, a rosewood board and 24 frets. Anderson's own shorthand for it is a Drop Top Classic with two full octaves.

The Angel body is shaped around the extra frets, with deeper cutaways for upper-fret reach, longer horns for balance, and contours front and back. Anderson cuts the pickguard so the neck pickup sits at the 24th harmonic. This model comes on the 25-1/2" scale.

For the same body in all tonewood, look at the Guardian Angel Player. For the figured top with no pickguard, look at the Angel.

The guitar in the photo is one customer's build in Cajun Key Lime to Teal Burst, shown as an example. Every Anderson is built to order: after you order, we go through the build with you, from the woods and finish to the neck shape, frets, pickups and hardware.

Price subject to change based on options chosen.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Country of Origin: USA (Newbury Park, California)
Model: Tom Anderson Guardian Angel
Body: Maple or other exotic top on a tonewood body back
Body Woods: Alder or basswood back; quilt maple, koa or walnut top optional
Pickguard: Yes
Finish: Gloss or satin

NECK
Neck: Maple back, rosewood fingerboard
Scale Length: 25-1/2" (Traditional)
Number of Frets: 24
Frets: Stainless steel; Heavy, Medium-Jumbo, Tall-Thin, Small or Jumbo
Nut Width: 1-5/8" or 1-11/16"
Neck Profile: Any Anderson neck shape

ELECTRONICS
Pickups: Any Anderson Pickupworks model
Switching: 3-way or 5-way

HARDWARE
Bridge: Vintage tremolo or fixed bridge
Tuners: Locking or split shaft
Hardware: Chrome or nickel
Strings: D'Addario XS coated, 10-46

CASE
Case: Anderson logo gig bag
