universal-audio-apollo-twin-usb-duo-audio-interface-windows
Universal Audio Apollo Twin USB DUO Audio Interface (Windows)

This is the original Apollo Twin USB, Universal Audio's Windows desktop interface with a UAD-2 DUO processor built in. UA has since replaced it with the Apollo Twin X USB and still supports this model.

The DUO chip runs UAD plug-ins in realtime, so you can track through them as you record. Unison preamp technology on the two mic/line inputs and the front Hi-Z input lets UA's preamp and amp emulations change how the input stage itself behaves. Conversion is 24-bit at up to 192 kHz, and an optical input takes ADAT or S/PDIF to add channels.

It connects over USB 3 and runs on Windows only: current UA requirements list Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 with a built-in USB 3 port.

SPECIFICATIONS

CONNECTIONS
Microphone Inputs: Two (Combo XLR/TRS)
Analog Line Inputs: Two
Hi-Impedance (Hi-Z) Instrument Inputs: One
Analog Line Outputs: Two
Analog Monitor Outputs: Two (one stereo pair)
Headphone Outputs: One stereo
Digital Input Port (TOSLINK optical): One (ADAT or S/PDIF, selectable)
USB 3 Port: One
DSP: Two (DUO) SHARC DSP processors (UAD-2 DUO)

CONVERSION
Supported Sample Rates (kHz): 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, 192
Bit Depth Per Sample: 24
Simultaneous A/D conversion: Two channels
Simultaneous D/A conversion: Six channels
Analog Round-Trip Latency: 1.1 milliseconds @ 96 kHz sample rate
Analog I/O Frequency Response: 20 Hz – 20 kHz, ±0.1 dB

PREAMPS
Gain Range: +10 dB to +65 dB
Phantom Power: +48V (switchable per mic input)
Mic Input Dynamic Range: 118 dB (A-weighting)
Mic Input Equivalent Input Noise: -127 dBu
Mic Input Default Input Impedance: 5.4K Ohms (variable via Unison plug-ins)
Pad Attenuation (switchable per input): 20 dB
Hi-Z Input Impedance: 1M Ohms (variable via Unison plug-ins)
Hi-Z Maximum Input Level: +12 dBu

OUTPUTS
Monitor Outputs 1 & 2: ¼" Female TRS Balanced
Monitor Output Dynamic Range: 115 dB (A-weighting)
Monitor Output Maximum Output Level: +20.2 dBu
Monitor Output Operating Reference Level: +14 dBu, +20 dBu (selectable)
Line Outputs 3 & 4: ¼" Female TRS Balanced
Headphone Maximum Output Power: 80 milliwatts into 600 ohm load

POWER AND SIZE
Power Supply: External AC to DC, 12 VDC
Maximum Power Consumption: 12 Watts
Width: 6.31"
Height: 2.60"
Depth, Including Knob & Jack Protrusions: 6.20"
Weight (bare unit): 2.35 pounds

IN THE BOX
Included: Apollo Twin USB DUO unit, external power supply with four changeable AC connectors, USB 3 SuperSpeed cable

SYSTEM
Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit edition or Windows 11; built-in USB 3 or 4 port
