A 1961 ES-335 in Sixties Cherry, Ultra Light Aged in the Murphy Lab.
Ultra Light is the gentlest grade the Lab does, and on a cherry 335 it is arguably the one that makes most sense: enough checking in the lacquer and enough dulling on the hardware to take the showroom off it, without any of the wear that would have you thinking about where it came from. The guitar reads as looked-after rather than played hard.
Rounded cutaways, SlimTaper 60s C neck, pearloid dots, and vintage-replica parts throughout. Unpotted Custombucker Alnico 3s at both positions with paper-in-oil capacitors and CTS 500K audio taper pots. Three-ply maple/poplar/maple body with a solid maple centreblock, long tenon neck joint set with hide glue.
