Dennis Fano founded Fano Guitars in 1996, left it in 2014, and started Novo in Nashville with a clean sheet. The guitars are built there by a small team, with Fano still doing the drawing. In 2025 the two companies merged and Fano production moved into Novo's shop.
The shapes read as familiar for about a second. Fano works from the vocabulary of early Fender, Gibson, Kay and Silvertone and rearranges it: offset waists, pickup layouts that belong to no single decade, headstocks you cannot quite place. Nothing here is a reissue of anything.
The line starts at the Serus J, Novo's flagship offset, and runs through the single-cut Solus, the semi-hollow Miris, the Idris, the Voltur and the Ivorus bass. Pickups change with the build; Lollartrons and gold foils turn up often. Aging is specced at order, anywhere from clean to medium distress.
People ask for the finishes by name. Toasted Marshmallow, Purple Stranger, Matrix Sparkle, Bull Black, Lake Sonic Burst, Uffington Green. Novo names a colour the way it draws a body.
Lauzon Music is established as a top dealer for Novo guitars in Canada. What is on this page was specced here, one build at a time: the colour, the pickups, the distress level, the pickguard. Every one crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships. If the one you want is not here, we will spec it with Novo and order it.
