Ordering guide
Ordering a Gibson from Lauzon Music
The current Gibson range
Gibson builds its electrics in Nashville and its acoustics in Bozeman, Montana, and sorts the regular line into the Original, Modern and Artist collections. Here it's grouped by model family, so you can go straight to the Les Pauls, the SGs or the round-shoulder acoustics.
- Les Paul. The biggest family on the page: the Studio, the Standard 50s and 60s, the Custom 70s, Juniors, Specials, the Modern and the Supreme, plus artist models from Slash to Adam Jones
- SG. The thin double-cut with easy reach to the top frets, from the SG Special and Standard to the Standard '61 with Maestro Vibrola and the Supreme
- ES. Gibson's thinline electrics: the ES-335 in 50s, 60s and Figured versions, the ES-339, ES-345 and ES-330, and the ES Supreme
- Explorer, Flying V and Firebird. The Explorer and Flying V in 70s and 80s versions, and the Firebird Platypus
- J-45 and round shoulders. Gibson's round-shoulder dreadnought in Standard, Studio, 50s and 60s Original and 12-fret Century versions, with the J-185 and J-160E alongside
- Hummingbird and Dove. The square-shoulder dreadnoughts, from the Hummingbird Special and Studio to the Standard and Original, plus the Dove Original
- SJ-200 and small bodies. The SJ-200 jumbo in Studio, Standard and Original versions, and the L-00 and LG-2 for players who want a smaller body
What a Gibson costs to order
Current Gibson models in the Catalogue run from about $1,700 to $8,000. Les Paul Studios and SG Specials sit near the start of that range, and the SJ-200 Standard Rosewood near the top. Each listing shows the price for that model and finish.

Questions
Gibson questions, answered
Which Gibson models can I order?
Every model on this page, from Gibson's current regular line: Les Paul, SG, ES, Victory, Explorer, Flying V, Firebird and Theodore electrics, the SG Standard and Thunderbird basses, and the J-45, Hummingbird, Dove, SJ-200, J-185, L-00 and LG-2 acoustics. Gibson Custom Shop guitars have their own Catalogue page.
Can I choose the finish on a Gibson order?
Yes. Each listing shows the finishes Gibson currently offers on that model, and you pick the one you want when you order.
What's the difference between ordering a Gibson and a Gibson Custom Shop guitar?
The regular Gibson line is built in Nashville and Bozeman and covers the Original, Modern and Artist collections. Gibson Custom builds the Historic Collection, with neck profiles and body carves 3D-scanned from benchmark vintage examples, plus Murphy Lab aged guitars and Made to Measure orders. Lauzon Music orders both, and each has its own Catalogue page.
Can I order a Gibson acoustic?
Yes. Gibson acoustics are handcrafted in Gibson's own shop in Bozeman, Montana, and the current range is on this page: J-45, Hummingbird, Dove, SJ-200, Southern Jumbo, J-185, L-00 and LG-2 models, including 12-fret and 12-string versions.
Pre-orders
Pre-order questions
How much do I pay today?
Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.
When will it arrive?
It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.
Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.
What if the price goes up before it arrives?
You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.
Is the setup included?
Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup on our bench before it ships.
Can I finance it?
Paying in full: yes, if you're in Canada. Choose PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything.
Paying a 25% deposit: the deposit can't be financed, and it's paid by card or PayPal.
More on Financing.
Can I pay with Shop Pay or Apple Pay?
Not on a deposit: Shopify only takes a pre-order deposit by card or PayPal. Pay in full and checkout works as usual.
