The 60s Burstbucker Underwound has everything the standard 60s Burstbucker has, with fewer windings on the bobbins. That brings clearly defined overtones and harmonics, and on its Alnico 5 magnet a brighter tone in the rhythm position. It's wound with plain enamel wire on unbalanced coils.
Gibson sells it singly as the rhythm partner to a standard 60s Burstbucker in the treble position. It's wax potted against microphonic feedback and has a braided two-conductor lead. For a warmer pair, look at the 50s Burstbucker and 50s Underwound on Alnico 2.
