A painted-over goldtop, which is a real piece of Les Paul history rather than a finish idea. Plenty of '57 goldtops were sprayed over in colour during their working lives, and Gibson's painted-over builds reproduce that: gold underneath, colour on top, and Murphy Lab aging that wears through the top coat in the places a real one would.
Here it is Pelham Blue over gold, Heavy Aged. Where the blue has gone, the gold is what shows.
Solid mahogany with a maple top, chunky C mahogany neck, Indian rosewood board with cellulose trapezoid inlays, 24.75" scale. Unpotted Custombucker Alnico IIIs, CTS 500K audio taper pots and paper-in-oil capacitors, ABR-1 and stopbar in nickel, vintage-style Kluson tuners.
