Why this one made the wall

We specced this one ourselves through Gibson Custom Shop's Made to Measure programme. The idea was a sunburst with sparkle in it, and Gibson's name for what came back is Gold Vermillion Burst. It sits on a 1968 Les Paul Custom Reissue, aged by the Murphy Lab to its Ultra Heavy level, so the sparkle reads through decades' worth of checking and wear.

It carries Custombucker pickups in place of the standard set, the other spec we chose for it, with gold hardware and an ebony fingerboard. It weighs 9 lb 5 oz and comes with its original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.

One of a kind, and not a finish Gibson offers on its standard list.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

What does the free setup cover?

Every instrument crosses our bench before it ships, and on an online order that setup is free.

What it covers depends on what the guitar needs. Frets, fretboard, hardware, fresh strings, truss rod, action, nut slots, intonation, pickup height and electronics are all part of it, and none of it is an upcharge. The menu above shows the choices you get to make.
