Why this one made the wall

We specced this '61 SG Standard through the Gibson Custom Shop's Made to Measure program and had it built for the shop. The colour was our call, which makes it one-of-a-kind: the only one built to this spec.

The Murphy Lab finished it at their Light Aged level. Black pickguard, black pickup rings and black plastics throughout keep the purple sparkle front and centre.

Under the finish it's a proper '61: Custombucker pickups, a '61 neck, a dark rosewood fingerboard and a stop bar tailpiece. It weighs 6 lb 13 oz.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

What does the free setup cover?

Every instrument crosses our bench before it ships, and on an online order that setup is free.

What it covers depends on what the guitar needs. Frets, fretboard, hardware, fresh strings, truss rod, action, nut slots, intonation, pickup height and electronics are all part of it, and none of it is an upcharge. The menu above shows the choices you get to make.
