Provenance

Why this one made the wall

The GR-HG-164T is the 5A maple version of the parlor in Boucher's Grande Reserve series, built in Quebec. It's a 12-fret parlor with torrefied, highly figured maple back and sides under a hand-picked torrefied AAAA Adirondack red spruce top. The flame on the back is the first thing you see, and on this one it runs edge to edge.

Boucher describes the voice as percussive, deep and woody. The 12-fret join sets the bridge further back in the lower bout than a 14-fret parlor would. The hand-scalloped, forward-shifted X bracing is in Adirondack too. It suits players who like maple's clarity but want something with more body behind it.

A 24.5" scale and 1.750" nut keep it relaxed under the fretting hand, and at 3 lb 5 oz it's an easy guitar for fingerstyle and long sessions. Ebony fingerboard, bridge and headplate, bone nut and saddle, Gotoh Open Gear Gold tuners, maple binding with herringbone purfling and an abalone rosette. The interior label is signed. Ships in Boucher's TKL tweed deluxe hardshell case.

Frequently asked

Questions we get

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

What does the free setup cover?

Every instrument crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, and on an online order that setup is free.

What it covers depends on what the guitar needs. Frets, fretboard, hardware, fresh strings, truss rod, action, nut slots, intonation, pickup height and electronics are all part of it, and none of it is an upcharge. The menu above shows the choices you get to make.

Ian's work is described on Repairs and tuning.

What if it is not right when it arrives?

You have 48 hours from the moment it arrives to decide. Email shop@lauzonmusic.com inside that window and we will authorize the return. Nothing comes back unauthorized.

Exchange it for something else and there is no restocking fee, though you cover the shipping on the instrument going back. On a straight refund it is 10% plus the actual shipping both ways.

The full terms are on Shipping and returns.

Can I pay for it over time?

Canadian buyers can pay over time with PayPlan by RBC, chosen as the payment method at checkout. The exact terms come from RBC and are shown to you before you agree to anything.
