Provenance

Why this one made the wall

Carlos Lopez built this one and signed the back of the headstock, with #575 written beside it in gold. Finished 12 August 2026.

Olive drab, aged, and aged properly rather than decoratively: the lower bout has worn through to bare wood along the edge, the forearm contour has the dulled sheen of a guitar that has been played, and the back carries scratches and buckle wear that follow where an arm and a belt actually sit. Tortoiseshell full guard against the green, which is the pairing that makes this one work, and a dark mole tint on the neck that sets off the olive.

Three Curtis Novak 1446 mini humbuckers through a volume, a tone and a five-way. That is the part worth stopping on. Mini humbuckers in all three positions give you the clarity and the cut of a single coil with more weight behind it, and Novak winds some of the best there are, so this is not a Conchers with the standard set in it.

Alder body with arm and belly contours, quartersawn roasted maple neck in a medium V at .850 and .920, white nitro binding, a bound rosewood board with block inlays over a 12" radius and 21 Jescar frets, bone nut at 1.725", Kluson tuners on a Castedosa headstock, Mastery bridge and tremolo, aged hardware throughout.

Frequently asked

Questions we get

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

What does the free setup cover?

Every instrument crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, and on an online order that setup is free.

What it covers depends on what the guitar needs. Frets, fretboard, hardware, fresh strings, truss rod, action, nut slots, intonation, pickup height and electronics are all part of it, and none of it is an upcharge. The menu above shows the choices you get to make.

Ian's work is described on Repairs and tuning.

What if it is not right when it arrives?

You have 48 hours from the moment it arrives to decide. Email shop@lauzonmusic.com inside that window and we will authorize the return. Nothing comes back unauthorized.

Exchange it for something else and there is no restocking fee, though you cover the shipping on the instrument going back. On a straight refund it is 10% plus the actual shipping both ways.

The full terms are on Shipping and returns.

Can I pay for it over time?

Canadian buyers can pay over time with PayPlan by RBC, chosen as the payment method at checkout. The exact terms come from RBC and are shown to you before you agree to anything.
