Provenance

Why this one made the wall

Austin MacNutt built this one for Beyond the Burst, and it was on order a long time before it arrived. Green paisley over a sorted two-piece alder body, Super Heavy Relic, with custom stone inlays in green and yellow. Both the paisley and the inlays came back to the shop as build questions rather than off any Fender option list.

The neck is 4A roasted flame maple in a 59 Esquire "C", .790" at the first fret and .970" at the twelfth, dark tinted nitro, 9.50" radius over 21 medium jumbo 6150s. If you want a neck with some shoulder to it rather than a modern flat C, that is the profile.

Hand-wound Fat '50s in the neck and middle, the middle reverse wound and reverse polarity, and a ThroBak SLE101 in aged nickel at the bridge. That last one is the real departure. It is an HSS Strat where the humbucker is a ThroBak rather than anything out of the Fender parts bin, and it is the reason this guitar does not sound like the other paisley Strats you have played.

RSD relic bridge and tremolo, parchment covers, knobs and trem tip, gold/black/gold nitro pickguard, vintage tuners with the Fender logo. Fender Custom Shop brown case.

Frequently asked

Questions we get

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

What does the free setup cover?

Every instrument crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, and on an online order that setup is free.

What it covers depends on what the guitar needs. Frets, fretboard, hardware, fresh strings, truss rod, action, nut slots, intonation, pickup height and electronics are all part of it, and none of it is an upcharge. The menu above shows the choices you get to make.

Ian's work is described on Repairs and tuning.

What if it is not right when it arrives?

You have 48 hours from the moment it arrives to decide. Email shop@lauzonmusic.com inside that window and we will authorize the return. Nothing comes back unauthorized.

Exchange it for something else and there is no restocking fee, though you cover the shipping on the instrument going back. On a straight refund it is 10% plus the actual shipping both ways.

The full terms are on Shipping and returns.

Can I pay for it over time?

Canadian buyers can pay over time with PayPlan by RBC, chosen as the payment method at checkout. The exact terms come from RBC and are shown to you before you agree to anything.

Financing never changes the price of the guitar. More on Financing.
