Provenance

Why this one made the wall

It looks like a '51 Nocaster in Closet Classic blonde, and it is, but there are two things about this one that are not standard and they are the reason it is here.

The pickups are ThroBak A3 Classics in both positions rather than the usual Nocaster set. And the finish has been taken off the back of the neck without any aging being done to it, so the playing surface feels like a heavy relic under your hand while the guitar still looks closet classic. That last one is a spec you cannot see in a photograph and it is the whole point.

The rest is Nocaster as it should be. Two-piece sorted ash, aged Nocaster Blonde lacquer, a plain-grain maple neck in the 1951 "U" at .950" first fret and a full 1.000" at the twelfth, 21 narrow-tall 6105 frets over a 9.5" radius, black Micarta dots at the narrow vintage spacing, a bone nut at 1.650". The bridge is the Gatton plate with no pickup hole in it, and the decal is the vintage silver Fender Tele from the short window when Fender had no name to put on the headstock at all.

One-ply black phenolic guard, vintage tuners with the Fender logo, chrome and nickel hardware, 10-46s. Fender Custom Shop tweed case.

Frequently asked

Questions we get

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

What does the free setup cover?

Every instrument crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, and on an online order that setup is free.

What it covers depends on what the guitar needs. Frets, fretboard, hardware, fresh strings, truss rod, action, nut slots, intonation, pickup height and electronics are all part of it, and none of it is an upcharge. The menu above shows the choices you get to make.

Ian's work is described on Repairs and tuning.

What if it is not right when it arrives?

You have 48 hours from the moment it arrives to decide. Email shop@lauzonmusic.com inside that window and we will authorize the return. Nothing comes back unauthorized.

Exchange it for something else and there is no restocking fee, though you cover the shipping on the instrument going back. On a straight refund it is 10% plus the actual shipping both ways.

The full terms are on Shipping and returns.

Can I pay for it over time?

Canadian buyers can pay over time with PayPlan by RBC, chosen as the payment method at checkout. The exact terms come from RBC and are shown to you before you agree to anything.

Financing never changes the price of the guitar. More on Financing.
