Why this one made the wall

Levi Perry came out of the Fender Custom Shop and started Gavilan to build one thing properly. Gavilan is Spanish for hawk, and it is also the name of the place he grew up. The guitars are made in New Mexico.

The Miramonte is his offset. Alder body, bolt-on maple neck in a medium "C", rosewood over a 12" radius, 25.5" scale and 22 Jescar medium jumbo frets. The neck joint is carved away where a traditional offset leaves a block, so the top frets are actually reachable rather than theoretically present.

This one is Shell Pink Burst under a heavy relic, white through the centre and pink out to the edges, worn back to bare wood along the lower bout and the forearm. Matching headstock, aged pearl pickguard, aged nickel hardware, Tuffset bridge and a Descendent tremolo.

A Lollar pair does the work: a '63 Jazzmaster at the neck and a J90 at the bridge. That is the pairing that gives it its character: the wide, glassy neck position an offset is bought for, with a P-90 at the bridge where an offset usually runs something narrower.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

What does the free setup cover?

Every instrument crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, and on an online order that setup is free.

What it covers depends on what the guitar needs. Frets, fretboard, hardware, fresh strings, truss rod, action, nut slots, intonation, pickup height and electronics are all part of it, and none of it is an upcharge. The menu above shows the choices you get to make.

What if it is not right when it arrives?

You have 48 hours from the moment it arrives to decide. Email shop@lauzonmusic.com inside that window and we will authorize the return. Nothing comes back unauthorized.
