A Flying V with a AAA flame maple top and seven-ply binding across the front. That is the whole reason to stop on this one: a V is normally slab mahogany with no binding anywhere, so a figured top with seven plies running round it is a Custom Shop answer to a question nobody usually asks. Cobra finish, VOS, so the lacquer and the gold have been given a vintage patina without any wear being put into them.
Mahogany neck in the 1950s Chunky D, which is the profile that suits a V: the body gives you nothing to rest against, so the neck is where the guitar lives. Ebony board, 22 frets, mother of pearl blocks, Corian nut, 24.75" scale.
A 490R and a 498T, which is the pairing Gibson uses when it wants a guitar to keep up rather than behave. Gold hardware throughout, black speed knobs, a '58 Flying V tailpiece and Grover Kidney tuners. Hardshell case included.
