Who this one is for

The Les Paul Standard 50s is Gibson's take on the late-fifties Standard: a solid mahogany body with no weight relief, a maple cap, and a mahogany neck carved to the 50s Vintage profile. That is the rounder, fuller neck of the two Standards, and the one to pick if you like something substantial in your hand.

The pickups are a Burstbucker 1 in the neck and a Burstbucker 2 in the bridge, both with Alnico 2 magnets and calibrated after early PAF-style humbuckers, with two volumes and two tones hand-wired to Orange Drop capacitors. ABR-1 bridge, aluminum stop bar, Vintage Deluxe tuners with keystone buttons, and a gloss nitro finish.

The finish decides the top. Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Tobacco Burst and Goldtop carry the regular maple cap. The Custom Color bursts (Blueberry Burst, Honey Amber, Ocean Blue, 60s Cherry and Translucent Fuchsia) get an AA figured top. Ebony, Inverness Green, Pelham Blue, Cardinal Red and Classic White are plain-top solid colours, priced a little lower. Heritage Cherry Sunburst and Goldtop also come left-handed.

If you prefer a slimmer neck and a little more top end, look at the Les Paul Standard 60s. For P-90s on this same body, there is the Les Paul Standard 50s P-90.

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
