Our take

Who this one is for

The Les Paul Standard 60s follows the early-sixties Standard: a slimmer SlimTaper neck and a pair of 60s Burstbuckers. Solid mahogany body with no weight relief, gloss nitro, two volumes and two tones hand-wired to Orange Drop capacitors, an ABR-1 bridge and Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons.

Bourbon Burst, Iced Tea and Unburst have an AA figured maple top, and so do the Custom Color bursts: Blueberry Burst, Honey Amber, Ocean Blue, 60s Cherry and Translucent Fuchsia. Ebony, Inverness Green, Pelham Blue, Cardinal Red and Classic White are plain-top solid colours at a lower price. Bourbon Burst and Iced Tea also come left-handed.

Choose this over the Standard 50s if you play a lot of lead or prefer a thinner neck. Choose the 50s if you want the bigger neck and Burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Want an estimate for this model before you order? Ask us in the chat.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
