Why this one made the wall

An SG Standard in Olive Drab, Heavy Aged in the Murphy Lab. Olive drab on an SG is a dealer-spec colour rather than anything from Gibson's standard chart, and Heavy Aged is the grade that puts real playing wear into it rather than a light checking pass.

The '61 SG is the one people mean when they say the neck is the point. One-piece solid mahogany body, set mahogany neck in the 1960 Slim Taper, 22 frets on dark Indian rosewood with cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays. There is almost nothing between your hand and the pickups, which is why the guitar is as fast as it is and why it weighs what it does.

Aged Custombucker Alnico IIIs front and back, both unpotted, running through CTS 500K audio taper pots and Black Beauty capacitors. ABR-1, lightweight aluminium stop bar, Kluson single line double ring tuners, nickel plating throughout. Custom Shop hardshell case.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

What does the free setup cover?

Every instrument crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, and on an online order that setup is free.

What it covers depends on what the guitar needs. Frets, fretboard, hardware, fresh strings, truss rod, action, nut slots, intonation, pickup height and electronics are all part of it, and none of it is an upcharge. The menu above shows the choices you get to make.

What if it is not right when it arrives?

You have 48 hours from the moment it arrives to decide. Email shop@lauzonmusic.com inside that window and we will authorize the return. Nothing comes back unauthorized.
