The SG Standard '61 follows the SG as it first appeared in 1961, when Gibson put the Les Paul on hiatus and introduced a thinner, double-cutaway solid mahogany body with deep bevels. The double horns leave the top of the neck wide open.
A SlimTaper mahogany neck on a bound rosewood board with trapezoid inlays, a pair of 60s Burstbuckers, two volumes and two tones hand-wired with Orange Drop capacitors, an ABR-1 bridge with an aluminum stop bar, and Vintage Deluxe tuners. Gloss nitro.
Vintage Cherry, Classic White, Pelham Blue Burst, Translucent Teal and TV Yellow, with Vintage Cherry also left-handed. The SG Standard '61 Maestro Vibrola adds the lyre vibrato tailpiece.
