A Serus J in Starry Night over Sublime, medium distress. The Sublime goes on underneath and the Starry Night over it, so what the distressing exposes is green rather than bare pine, and the two colours end up doing the work together. Peghead matches the body.
The hardware is the reason to want this one. A Mastery M1 bridge with Novo's NV vibrato and the Lightning Bolt arm, which is the combination that fixes everything an offset traditionally gets wrong: the strings stay in their slots, the vibrato returns to pitch, and the arm stays where you put it.
A pair of Lollar DC90s do the work, black soapbars sitting in a five-ply black guard, with a brushed metal control plate carrying the knobs and switch. DC90s are the reason to spec a Serus J this way: the output and the fatness of a P-90 without the hum, which on a guitar built for volume is the whole argument.
Tempered pine body and tempered maple neck, rosewood board with MOTO dots, 25.5" scale, 9.5" to 14" compound radius, Jescar 57110 jumbo fretwire, medium C at .830". Dumble knobs, black toggle tip, Stringjoy 10-48. Novo deluxe padded soft case.
