Who this one is for

The James Norbert Ivanyi Signature Series Modern is Suhr's Modern body in alder, finished in medium aged lacquer, with the same aged lacquer on the headstock under a gold fill, black outline logo. Suhr took the look from classic cars and motorcycles, and the two finishes are Russett Brown and Russett Yellow.

The roasted maple neck has a satin finish and an ebony board, in the Modern Elliptical profile at .800" to .850" with a 1.650" nut. It runs a 10" to 14" compound radius with jumbo stainless frets and aged clay dots. An SSV humbucker at the neck and an SSH Plus at the bridge go through a 3-way blade with a Preset Blower switch, and pulling the volume knob splits both humbuckers. The Suhr 2-Post tremolo has bent saddles, the hardware is black, and it comes in a black hardshell case.

The Modern Plus shares the body shape and neck profile, with basswood under a flame maple top, chrome hardware and a choice of board. This one is alder, ebony and aged lacquer. Of the two colours, we'd take Russett Brown with the black hardware.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
