Who this one is for

The Modern Plus is Suhr's asymmetrical Modern body in basswood under a flame maple top with scraped binding, on a roasted maple neck carved to the Modern Elliptical profile, .800" to .850" with a 1.650" nut. An SSH+ sits at the bridge and an SSV at the neck, with a V60LP single coil in the middle where the guitar is built with one, and a push/pull tone pot splits both humbuckers.

The 10" to 14" compound radius is rounder near the nut and flatter higher up where you bend, and the jumbo stainless frets wear slowly. Suhr locking tuners and a 2-Post tremolo with a steel block round out the hardware.

Every finish comes with a roasted maple or pau ferro board. Roasted maple keeps the neck one wood end to end; pau ferro puts a darker board under your hand, and we'd go that way on Trans Charcoal Burst or Faded Trans Whale Blue Burst. The Standard Plus puts single coils in the neck and middle of a Standard body. The James Norbert Ivanyi Signature Series Modern is this body shape in alder with an ebony board and aged lacquer.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
