Lakland basses at Lauzon Music
What Lakland is known for
The name is two founders put together: Dan Lakin and his original partner Hugh McFarland. Lakland builds a USA Series alongside the Skyline Series, and the Darryl Jones signature is a good example of what the company does well. It looks close to Lakland's 44-60 but with deeper contours and more dramatic cutaways, a swamp ash body, a flat-sawn maple neck and a pair of passive Lakland Vintage J single coils. Jones has played with Miles Davis, Sting and Madonna.

Questions
Lakland questions, answered
What are the specs of the Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones bass?
Swamp ash body, flat-sawn maple neck, 34" scale and 21 frets on a 10" radius, with a 1.5" Delrin nut. Two passive Lakland Vintage J single coils run through volume, volume and tone. The Lake Placid Blue version has an Indian laurel fingerboard with pearl block inlays, white binding and a matching headstock.
What is the Lakland Dual Access bridge?
It lets you string the bass either through the body or through the bridge, so you can choose the feel and string tension you prefer without changing parts.
What's the difference between the Lakland Skyline and USA Series Darryl Jones?
Lakland builds the Darryl Jones signature in both series. The USA Series version is the US-made one, with a quarter-sawn maple neck reinforced with graphite, a choice of swamp ash or alder for the body and more fingerboard options, including fretless. Both use Lakland Vintage J single coils as standard. Ask us in the chat if you're weighing one against the other.
