MayFly pedals at Lauzon Music

What MayFly is known for

Deep sounds without much knob twiddling. MayFly keeps its controls simple, and most of its pedals use full bypass with a fail-safe relay, so the effect drops out of the signal path if the board loses power. The boost and overdrive generate 18 volts inside from a standard 9 volt supply for extra headroom, and the artwork on the enclosures is by Sabine Elliott.

Questions

MayFly questions, answered

Where is MayFly Audio based?

In Ottawa. MayFly Audio Systems is an Ottawa pedal maker, and the Bytown Boost takes its name from the city's original name.

What does the Bytown Boost do?

It's a clean boost of up to 20 dB with an active tilt EQ: turn it one way to boost bass and cut treble, the other way for the reverse, pivoting at 350 Hz. It makes 18 volts internally from a 9 volt supply, for about twice the headroom of a typical boost.

Can I run the Jelly Fish in mono?

Yes. A mono switch sends a mono source to both reverb channels for a wide sound, and a separate mix-mono output sums the stereo reverb for a single amp. The stereo TRS output stays live at the same time, so you can feed an amp and a PA or DAW together.

What is the Open Window like?

A transparent overdrive that adds more of what your rig already does. It uses asymmetric clipping to avoid fizz, has separate bass and treble controls, and runs at 18 volts internally, so it can take a hot signal or boost the next pedal in line.

Do you ship MayFly pedals to the US?

Yes. Every MayFly ships insured, free over $200 across Canada and the US, and US orders carry no duty.
