The MT2 V is the MT2 in oil-based varnish. The carved Adirondack spruce top, the Eastern flamed maple back, sides and neck, the f-holes, the tone bars and the ivoroid binding with black and white purfling all carry over, finished in high gloss alkyd resin varnish in place of nitrocellulose lacquer. It also gains an ivoroid-bound ebony pickguard and a tailpiece with an engraved border.
Tuners are nickel Gotoh with ivoroid buttons as standard, and Collings offers Waverly tuners as an option. For the lacquer version, look at the MT2. On the F-style body, the MF5 V is the varnish counterpart.
