Gibson hired car designer Ray Dietrich to draw the Firebird, and the 1963 Firebird V is the result: an offset reverse body, neck-through construction and mini humbuckers. The Custom Shop builds it to the original contours, dimensions and methods.
A 9-ply mahogany and walnut neck-through, an authentic 1963 neck profile on an Indian rosewood board, two Firebird pickups with Alnico 5 magnets, a hand-wired harness with 500K CTS pots, an ABR-1 bridge, a Maestro Vibrola and banjo-style tuners. Vintage Sunburst VOS.
