Ray Dietrich's 1963 Firebird V: a reverse body, a 9-ply mahogany and walnut neck-through and Firebird mini humbuckers. Gibson's Murphy Lab, named for Tom Murphy, who pioneered guitar aging at Gibson, finishes this guitar in aged nitro lacquer and ages its hardware to match.
Light Aged is the second of the Murphy Lab's four aging levels, a step up in wear from Ultra Light. Firebird pickups with Alnico 5 magnets on a hand-wired harness, an ABR-1, the Maestro Vibrola and banjo-style tuners. Cardinal Red.
