Provenance

Why this one made the wall

A Studio Elite ordered for the shop in May and finished on 11 August 2026. Tequila Sunset Shmear over the body, and the shmear does not stop there: it runs up the neck, across the face of the maple fingerboard and over the headstock, so the marbled black, red and orange reads as one continuous piece from the strap button to the tip. Matte throughout, with the Silver Standard logo faded into the same colours.

Underneath the paint it is a full Tyler order. Alder body, rear rout, no pickguard. Quartersawn maple neck in the ST64 profile at a 1-5/8" nut, wide and tall frets, black onyx inlays set into the painted board.

The electronics are where this one earns its price. Two HCS JTS5500 single coils at the neck and middle with a slanted Shark at the bridge, a five-way with an added neck-and-bridge switch beside it, and a midboost preamp running Volume, Boost and Tone. The preamp carries its own bypass, so the boost is there when you want it and out of the signal path when you do not, and a lead/rhythm circuit and series/split/parallel switching sit on top of that. It covers a lot of ground for a guitar with three knobs.

Black hardware throughout, dome knobs, Hipshot locking tuners with black buttons, a G2TS bridge and 9-46s. Seven pounds nine ounces.

Frequently asked

Questions we get

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

What does the free setup cover?

Every instrument crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, and on an online order that setup is free.

What it covers depends on what the guitar needs. Frets, fretboard, hardware, fresh strings, truss rod, action, nut slots, intonation, pickup height and electronics are all part of it, and none of it is an upcharge. The menu above shows the choices you get to make.

Ian's work is described on Repairs and tuning.

What if it is not right when it arrives?

You have 48 hours from the moment it arrives to decide. Email shop@lauzonmusic.com inside that window and we will authorize the return. Nothing comes back unauthorized.

Exchange it for something else and there is no restocking fee, though you cover the shipping on the instrument going back. On a straight refund it is 10% plus the actual shipping both ways.

The full terms are on Shipping and returns.

Can I pay for it over time?

Canadian buyers can pay over time with PayPlan by RBC, chosen as the payment method at checkout. The exact terms come from RBC and are shown to you before you agree to anything.

Financing never changes the price of the guitar. More on Financing.
