Solid spruce over solid mahogany, forward-shifted Golden Era scalloped bracing and Old Style 18 appointments. The D-18 has been in the Martin line since 1931 and the specification has barely had to move, because every part of it is doing a job.
In the D-14 fret dreadnought body that gives you the bold projection and strong bass the shape is built for, with a punchy midrange and bright trebles rather than the darker voice of a rosewood dreadnought. It has been the workhorse in this catalogue for close to a century for exactly that reason.
Golden Era Modified Low Oval neck with the high-performance taper at 25.4" scale, ebony bridge, pins and fingerboard, bone nut and compensated bone saddle, nickel open-gear tuners with butterbean knobs. Hardshell case included.
