Who this one is for

The Koji is an analog compressor with a Mix knob for parallel compression, blending the compressed signal with your dry signal anywhere from 10% to 100%. Kept low, the compression stays transparent and smooths out rhythm parts. Turned up, it reaches the warm, squishy sound Suhr points to for country and R&B. Suhr states the circuit and tone are identical to the original Koji.

Comp, Level and Attack set the amount of gain reduction, the make-up gain and how fast the compressor reacts, with attack running from 1ms to 100ms. A three-position Voice switch tunes the top end: left lifts the upper mids to bring out picking attack, middle is flat, and right lifts the upper mids and treble. The LED changes from green to orange to red to show how much gain reduction is happening.

The Woodshed Comp Andy Wood Signature takes a different route: Suhr describes the Koji as a feed-back VCA design and the Woodshed as feed-forward, with more headroom.

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
